2008-12-11: .NET User Group in Macedonia Elects Members of the Presidency - Netcetera Employee Ljubomir Zivanovic Joins the Managing Board
The Macedonian .NET User Group is the largest developer community in Macedonia and was recently registered as a non-governmental organization. The group provides a communication channel for .NET related news and job opportunities, and offers a networking and learning location. The newly elected managing board member and Netcetera software engineer Ljubomir Zivanovic about the Macedonian .NET User Group: "Within a short time after the Java User Group, this is the second software developer community founded in Macedonia. It will be a pleasure for me to help this community rise".

Girls and boys visited Netcetera in Zürich and accompanied the father or mother during the working day. Netcetera sets a great value on equal opportunities and is happy to encourage young talents in giving them an introduction to information technology.

2008-11-07: Netcetera at the Finance Forum Switzerland 2008 - Comprehensive Solutions for Financials
At the conference of 4 November Netcetera’s CTO Joachim Hagger showed how the finance industry can profit from the latest mobile technology. Furthermore, Netcetera presented its comprehensive solutions for financial planning, payment technologies and systems integration. At the Finance Forum’s Run for Sponsors the Netcetera runners once again used their legs for a good cause.

2008-10-30: Netcetera Knowhow for Smartphone - Tramdroid for iPhone: Travelling without Haste
With Tramdroid Netcetera has launched its first mobile application for the iPhone. Tramdroid enables iPhone users to quickly find updated tram and bus timetables for the city of Zürich. After only a few days in the iTunes AppStore, Tramdroid receives very positive user reviews and made it to the top 10 in Switzerland.

2008-10-16: Brain-Group Acquires all Customer Contracts of Tribut - Netcetera with Strategic Shareholding in Brain-Group
Brain-Group is specialized in financial advisory software and acquires all customer contracts of Tribut. Brain-Group raises its equity capital of which Netcetera takes over a 33% share. Furthermore, Netcetera is represented in Brain-Group’s board of directors with Mike Franz and Tom Molag.

2008-09-30: Metaversum - Benno Häfliger new Managing Director
On 1 October 2008 Benno Häfliger (49) was appointed Managing Director for Metaversum, a Netcetera company. Metaversum is focusing on state-of-the-art consulting & solutions for sales and marketing management. Marcel Altherr, former managing director, who successfully set up the company, is leaving after four years.

2008-09-12: Award Ceremony of Robot Team Challenge - Netcetera and AdNovum Awarded the Winners
With their canteen robot a grammar school team from Sargans won the «Robot Team Challenge». Netcetera and AdNovum jointly initiated this contest in Switzerland's year of information technology, called informatica08. The happy winners and all other contributions exceeded all expectations. At Netcetera we are very proud and happy to have raised awareness for the importance of IT education in Swiss grammar schools with this hands-on project.

2008-08-28: The World's Most Powerful Planning Software for Railways - Swiss Federal Railways Are Creating their Timetable for 2010
Netcetera developed the "NeTS" software for the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) together with their partners Ergon and NOSE. SBB is currently using the system to plan its nationwide passenger and freight traffic for the year 2010. The world's most powerful planning software for railways also stands for a highly successful collaboration between all the parties.

2008-08-27: The Great Final at the Day of IT - 26 Robot Team Challenge Contributions Are Presented to Jury
Early this year, Netcetera invited Swiss grammar school teams to hand in their projects for a Robot Team Challenge. On the day of Information Technology, 29 August 2008, 26 teams are presenting their robots to the jury and the public on Zürich's Turbinenplatz between 8:30 and 17:20 hrs. The robots are showing their capabilities and for sure will cause suprise. At Netcetera we are happy that contributions for the Robot Team Challenge exceeded all expectations.

2008-07-28: Committed to Society - The Support Program Netcetera Cultura
Cultura supports interesting projects in culture, education, society and leisure in countries where Netcetera has offices. Cultura has already received the first applications for projects in 2008. Currently, the Swiss Scouts’ Jamboree is being supported. In the sub camp 1, named 360°, Cultura facilitates a tower serving equally as center and landmark.

2008-07-18: We Make Professionals - Successful Graduation as Chef with Netcetera Gastro
The Netcetera Group has added one professional to the team: Lamin Barrow passed the tests for his apprenticeship as a chef with flying colors. He works at Netcetera's staff restaurant, the historical Café Boy, operated by Netcetera Gastro. Yesterday, the employees were celebrating Lamin’s successful graduation at Netcetera’s headquarters in Zürich.

2008-07-02: Website with a New Look - mitLinks and Netcetera Create a New Website for the ZVV
mitLinks and Netcetera developed the new website of the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV) and implemented its technological redesign. The new system architecture allows a gradual integration of different existing as well as future applications. The expansion of the website includes the Content Management System OpenCMS, enabling ZVV to support their internet platform with ease and control.

2008-06-30: Successful International Java Technology Conference - Jazoon’08: Outstanding Speakers and More Visitors
About 850 participants and over 90 speakers from 37 countries attended the Java technology conference Jazoon’08 in Zürich from 23 to 26 June 2008. IT and Java people were exchanging knowledge and opinions with well-known experts and outstanding speakers in an ideal atmosphere. 2008-06-18: Winners of the Programming Contest in Mazedonia Appointed - 500 Programmers Earn their Bragging Rights at Netcetera’s Code Fu
The programming contest Code Fu, initiated by Netcetera in Macedonia, has ended. Pance Cavkovski won with his solution to five algorithmic problems that passed the most unit tests. Nikola Postolov and Ivan Milanov occupy the second and third place. All of them attend the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the University in Skopje. Between 13 April and 8 June 2008, the 500 participants had to overcome four rounds; the warm-up round was followed by two online rounds and ultimately, the remaining 32 participants competed in the finale. The jury evaluated the presented programs by the number of unit test they passed. The three happy winners are now looking forward to a trip to the Java Conference in Zürich, Jazoon.

2008-05-14: «Robot Team Challenge» Generates Surprising Projects - Contributions Exceed all Expectations
The Zurich-based software companies Netcetera and AdNovum invited interdisciplinary grammar school teams to hand in their projects for the «Robot Team Challenge». This challenge was launched in context of the year of information technologies in Switzerland – informatica08. The initiators of the challenge expected a maximum of 15 applications that would fulfill the quality requirements for soft and hard skills as well as originality. However, after the application deadline at the end of April, twice as many projects were presented and all of them were accepted. The school teams located all over Switzerland, for example in Basel, Bern, Zurich, central Switzerland and Grisons, are receiving an introduction by the software engineers from both companies in the course of the next few days. The projects are being developed over the next five months and awarded in Zurich on 11 September 2008.
